your well-being is being challenged

From the environmental pollution of the air we breathe to the systemic poisoning of our waters, soil, food, and medicine, it’s not at all a mystery to me why people feel anywhere from “blah” to awful. Uncomfortable symptoms—and the categorization of said symptoms, called “disease”—are simply your body’s natural responses to something blocking your biological flow. If and when those blockages are correctly identified and dealt with, one’s natural balance is instantly—almost magically—restored.

Holistic Medicine

Because everything is connected, including all the parts of you.

Your “disease” is just a group of symptoms, developed by your body to attempt to deal with a toxin or toxic load (be it emotional, environmental, physical, etc.) that is interfering with the natural and organized flow of your bodily systems.

Your body speaks only one language: Symptoms.

It is desperately trying to communicate to you that something is wrong and it needs to course-correct. If it feels attacked by something, it will produce inflammatory symptoms to defend itself and remove the offending agent by creating inflammation to get the toxicity out of the body through sweat, a rash, a runny nose, bowel or urinary excrement, vomit, exhalations, sneezing, watery eyes…

For instance, if a particle of dust enters your eye, your Mind-Body will react by producing inflammation to get the dust out by swelling your eye with healing blood and lymphatic fluid, so there’s more tissue surface area to deliver nutrients and remove the toxin, and it will also produce tears (water) to flush out the particle. Brilliant! This is not an “eye disease”—it’s just your eye attempting to stay healthy by removing the offending agent. Temporarily uncomfortable? Yes. Something to lose sleep over? No. But, if you went to your doctor at the height of the eye inflammation—not realizing you just have a piece of dust in your eye—it would appear to be some sort of eye disease and you may receive a worrisome and incorrect diagnosis—and an ineffective at best and harmful at worst “treatment”—for your condition.

This is where I can help. I analyze your “symptom story”—what happened? What is the threat, where is it coming from, how is it affecting you. and how best do we resolve it? And more importantly, I help you feel relief through harmonizing bodily imbalances and educating you about what’s really going on so you can reframe your condition, which then empowers you to resolve it more quickly and easily. Your body is intelligent, self-healing, and it’s doing its best with what its got. I can help you fill in the gaps and move things along.

Over its 5,000-year history, Acupuncture has remained virtually unchanged, making it perhaps the oldest and most effective medical system in the world. Acupuncture restores balance between the basic physiological processes in the body, by correcting the flow, direction, and qualities of the body’s temperature, fluids, gases, and light. It’s also extremely relaxing and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, also known as “rest and digest”.

Auricular Medicine

A complete medical system that utilizes the ear to both diagnose and treat the mind and body, via reflexology. The ear is an external extension of the brain and nervous system and it contains a map of the entire body; for literally every single part of you there is a corresponding reflex point on the ear, which is what I tap into when using this system. The effects are often felt quickly, profoundly, and are long-lasting and I put adhesive ear seeds on your ears for continued self-treatment at home.

Gua Sha & Cupping

Gua Sha and Cupping are ancient medical massage therapies, practiced for thousands of years, all over the world. Both modalities help with pain & inflammation, skin issues, and are both relaxing and revitalizing. It only takes 5-10 minutes of Gua Sha and Cupping to match the therapeutic effects of an hour-long massage. I use only the highest quality therapeutic oils, balms, and gua sha stones when performing these therapies.

LED Light Therapy

A non-invasive and deeply relaxing treatment where L.E.D. lnfrared light pads are placed on you. This releases lots of Nitric Oxide throughout your body, which is known as the “self-healing molecule”. From physical pain to emotional pain, this treats depression/anxiety, insomnia, TMJ dysfunction, physical injuries, nerve pain, skin disorders, digestive conditions, viral/bacterial/parasitic/fungal infections and more, without the side-effects of conventional medicine.

more about me & how i work

I’ve been in practice since 2002 and have extensive training in various forms of body work, energy healing, and intuitive development. I also hold degrees in both Anthropology and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Herbalism. I primarily practice Sa’am Acupuncture (“Acupuncture of Wandering Monks”, as taught by Toby Daly, L.Ac.), which is the most powerful and effective style of Oriental Medicine I know of. This acupuncture system considers the whole entire person in every treatment, which includes one’s constitutional body type and personality, skin type, facial expressions, current mood and energy levels, lifestyle, habits, preferences, and of course one’s chief health complaint. When diagnosing, I am always asking myself: “…who, what, where, when, and why” does this patient have this problem. The results can often be quite profound and I can confidently say that I practice truly holistic medicine. I also have training in and hold certifications in various forms of energy medicine, including: Sound Therapy with Tuning Forks, Photobiomodulation (LED Light Therapy), Shamanism, BodyTalk, MindScape, Emotion & Body Code, Biomagnetism, and Biogeometry. I incorporate all of my training, education, and modalities into my treatments and practice.
